Seth guards the way forward like a locked gate with a pulse, hidden in the interstices of the Blasted Steps.
I fast-traveled to the Blasted Steps and sprinted toward the Grand Gate of the Citadel, passing the arena where I’d once faced the Last Judge. The huge elevator shaft now held a secret: using Silk Soar, I clung to the top-right wall and found a passage tucked behind what looked like solid stone. Descending that vertical cavern felt like rappelling into a fossilized throat. I stayed close to the left wall and spotted a suspicious crack—a breakable barrier that opened into a forgotten corridor.
Through the breach, vegetation crept back into the stonework, and I soon found a shortcut back to a familiar Bench in the Underworks—the one that demands a tithe of 15 Rosaries. These let me flow around Seth’s swings rather than simply block them. For my Crest, I chose the Reaper Crest, which permits two Tools of each color. For Tools, I avoided anything that visually cluttered the screen. Seth demands full attention; his movements are the only weather report you need. I slotted the Pollip Pouch, enabling a rapid poison injection, and paired it with the Flea Brew (obtained after finding five Lost Fleas) and the Plasmium Phial (from the Alchemist’s Assistant quest). Together, these created a toxic aura that bit Seth simply for standing near me—a slow bleed of damage that added up during those long defensive phases.
To survive mistakes, I equipped the Fractured Mask for an extra hit point, and the Silkspeed Anklets for faster sprinting across the arena. Finally, the Magnetite Dice and Weighted Belt formed a strange but effective couple: the Dice refined my accuracy, while the Belt gave a 10% chance to block an incoming attack outright. It was the closest thing to a phantom shield I could carry.
The Dance Itself: Reading Seth’s Bladework
