According to the latest tier lists, her damage output surpasses every other character in the Havoc element, making her a must-pull for any player looking to dominate the endgame content. However, unlocking her full potential requires a carefully optimized build that focuses on her Heavy Attack-centric playstyle. This guide breaks down everything you need to know, from stat priorities to team compositions, ensuring that your Yangyang Xuanling becomes an unstoppable force on the battlefield.
Stat Priorities: Crit Stats and Heavy Attack Damage
Yangyang Xuanling is a straightforward Havoc DPS who deals the majority of her damage through Heavy Attacks. To build her correctly, you must stack as much Crit Rate and Crit DMG as possible. The golden rule for any DPS in Wuthering Waves is to maintain a 1:2 ratio between Crit Rate and Crit DMG — for example, 70% Crit Rate and 140% Crit DMG. This ensures consistent, high-value critical hits.
Following Crit stats, you should prioritize Heavy Attack Damage and Energy Regen. Yangyang Xuanling needs at least 120% Energy Regen to use her Liberation ability effectively. Without this threshold, her rotation will feel clunky and her damage will suffer. Finally, ATK% is a solid secondary stat that further amplifies her overall damage.

Best Weapons for Yangyang Xuanling
Choosing the right weapon is crucial for maximizing Yangyang Xuanling's damage. Her signature weapon, Azure Oath, is by far the best option. It provides a flat 12% boost to all attribute DMG and massively amplifies Heavy Attack damage after inflicting Havoc Bane on enemies. This synergy perfectly aligns with her kit, making it the undisputed best-in-slot choice.
For alternatives, Emerald Sentence and Red Spring are both excellent 5-star options. If you don't have those, the 5-star Standard weapon Emerald of Genesis is a strong F2P-friendly choice. For 4-star alternatives, Lumingloss and Fables of Wisdom are serviceable, but Emerald of Genesis remains the recommended fallback if you want a budget option that still performs well.
Echoes and Sonata Effects
When it comes to Echoes, there is only one optimal choice: the Song of the Feathered Trace sonata effect. This set is tailor-made for Yangyang Xuanling, and no other set comes close to matching its synergy. For her main Echo, you must use the Thousand-Puppet Pavilion. The recommended Echo cost pattern is 4-3-3-1-1, which has become the standard for most DPS characters in the current meta. This distribution ensures you get the maximum stat boosts while activating the full sonata effect.
Best Team Compositions
Yangyang Xuanling thrives in teams that can support her Havoc Bane application and Heavy Attack focus. Her perfect synergies are Chisa, Phrolova, Suisui, and Shorekeeper. Among these, Chisa and Suisui form her best premium team, as they both enhance her ability to inflict Havoc Bane. If you don't have them, Phrolova and Shorekeeper are excellent substitutes. Additionally, you can run her in a Mono Havoc, Heavy Attack Focused, or Tune Break team, but these are not her optimal setups.

How to Get Yangyang Xuanling
Before you can build Yangyang Xuanling, you need to acquire her from the Wuthering Waves banners. She is available as a limited-time character, so you will need to use Astrite to pull for her. If you are short on Astrite, keep an eye out for redeemable codes that often circulate during special events. Once you have her, the investment in her build will pay off handsomely, as she can clear even the hardest content with ease.
Final Thoughts
Yangyang Xuanling is a powerhouse that rewards investment. By focusing on Crit stats, Heavy Attack Damage, and Energy Regen, and by equipping her with Azure Oath and the Song of the Feathered Trace set, you will unleash her full potential. Pair her with the right teammates, and she will carry you through the toughest challenges in Wuthering Waves. As of 2026, she stands at the top of the Havoc DPS rankings, and with this build, she will remain there for the foreseeable future. Whether you are a veteran player or a newcomer, Yangyang Xuanling is a character worth building and mastering.
Most Wuthering Waves players don't limit themselves to a single game, and the stretch between version updates is usually when the backlog gets attention. Whe less
